Wedding Photography Workshop

I’ve been doing a wedding photography workshop with the Cape Town School of Photography, taught by the amazingly talented Mark Kalkwarf. We had some lectures last week, and Saturday we had a full day shoot at Constantia Uitsig wine estate, where a whole wedding was staged, from bridal prep all the way through to a reception and cutting the cake. The weather didn’t really play along, with rain the whole morning, but it did give us gorgeous soft light from the cloudy skies. With 2 great models we had many opportunities to get great shots, these are a few of my favourites from the day.

Finally I’ve chosen a theme for my photo course project. There’s this really off-beat weekend market close to where I stay. Lots of interesting characters, odd stuff for sale, and also interesting shoppers.

This old man is staring out to sea, probably pondering the meaning of life or something, before getting to work in his stall.

Sucked into a Flickr vortex

Things have gone really quiet here.

Since I got a new camera lens for Christmas, I’ve really gotten back into my photography. I signed up for a course at the Cape Town School of Photography and have been taking a lot of pics. Then I discovered the great community at Flickr, and have been slowly sucked into a Flickr vortex.
